Job description

Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: In and around Preston

Shifts: Permanent Days: 4 on 4 off, 6 AM to 6 PM; Permanent Nights: 4 on 4 off, 6 PM to 6 AM; Days and Lates: 4 on 4 off, 7 AM to 7 PM / 12 PM to 12 AM; Permanent Days: 7 AM - 4 PM; Continental; Panama

Salary: Up to GBP52,000

The Role:

We are looking for a Shift Engineering, Maintenance Engineer, who will support the Process group in resolving Electrical or Mechanical issues within the production areas of our site. You will work to improve processes using your creativity, fault find, troubleshooting, refurbishment of equipment and parts, attend breakdowns and take ownership and use your initiative to champion continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with management to reduce plant failures and implement prevention strategies.
2. Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and minimize variation.
3. Coordinate with other departments to provide specialized support as needed.
4. Attend breakdowns promptly and ensure daily schedule adherence.
5. Contribute to investigations for incidents/deviations to aid in root cause analysis.
6. Complete and regularly review Risk Assessments for your area, ensuring timely implementation of actions.
7. Ensure safe performance of job tasks while complying with EHS requirements, policies, and programs.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 3 years experience working within a manufacturing environment, preferably a regulated clean environment.
2. Knowledge of pumps, motors and mechanical drives, electrical drives and basic electric diagnostics.
3. Level 3 Qualification or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC, HND, ONC).
4. Strong experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
5. Familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing equipment.
6. Must be a team player and willing to fit in with the family style ethos of the maintenance engineer team.
7. Competent fault finding and repairing on a range of machinery including electrical equipment.
8. Be enthusiastic and have a genuine interest in developing within the pharmaceutical industry.
