Job summary

Recruit4staff Ltd. are representing a leading agricultural manufacturing business seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to operate at Oswestry. The role offers a permanent contract with a salary up to £50,000, 4 on 4 off shifts or days, and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will diagnose faults, repair PLC-controlled equipment, and perform fabrication, welding and installation while maintaining safe operation of the plant.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Time served electrically biased engineer or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Good understanding of schematic wiring diagrams.
• Mechanical engineering experience.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on PLC-controlled switchgear, inverter-controlled drives, solenoid and limit switching.
• Experience maintaining conveyors, elevators, compressors, hammermill grinders, pellet presses and pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to undertake fabrication work including welding and machinery installation.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
• Formal training relevant to maintenance and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair PLC-controlled equipment, conveyors, elevators, compressors, hammermill grinders and pellet presses.
• Diagnose faults, repair and maintain equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Undertake fabrication, welding, machinery installation and record maintenance activities.
• Work safely and follow health and safety procedures within the plant.
