Job summary

SEA LIFE London Aquarium, part of Merlin Entertainments, is seeking a robust, hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the operations team. You will ensure the smooth, safe operation of life support systems, exhibits and building infrastructure, performing fault-finding, preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown response.

The role includes pumps, LSS, HVAC/chiller systems, PLC fault finding and heavy PPM schedules on AHUs, chillers and extract fans.

Qualifications

Proven working history as an engineer in factory, manufacturing, or heavy industrial background.
A Degree, City & Guilds or ONC, NVQ Level 3 or BTEC equivalent.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities.
Familiar with PLC controls, HVAC/chiller systems, and fluid/pumping mechanics.
Experience managing heavy PPM schedules.

Responsibilities

Maintain, service, and repair high-flow pumps and life support systems (LSS).
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot general lighting and DMX lighting across exhibits and public zones.
Perform PLC fault finding and diagnostics on automated controls.
Schedule PPM for AHUs, AC units, chillers, and extract fans.
Oversee general facility repairs including doors and plumbing as needed.
