Job summary

C&K Meats, a historic British pork producer near Eye, Suffolk, seeks a Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for day shifts (5am–5pm). You will support the engineering head, maintain production lines, and manage contractors while upholding health, safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates bring NVQ3+ in mechanical/electrical, PLC fault-finding and CMMS experience, plus strong problem-solving and autonomous working skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or higher in mechanical and electrical engineering is required.
• Knowledge of BRC standards and customer codes of practice is advantageous.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems and CMMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to the head of engineering and teams for repairs, modifications and improvements to assets.
• Install, maintain and improve production lines while managing contractors and ensuring HSE adherence.
• Identify problems early, analyse root causes and take appropriate corrective action.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Days

Eye- Suffolk

Days - Panama shift 5am till 5pm

Salary £53,360

There is an opportunity to join our growing team as an Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. In this hands on role, you will provide technical assistance for our head of engineering and engineering teams, ensuring the efficient repair, modifications and improvements to company assets. You will have shared responsibility for the installation, maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and also ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to.

Day to day, your role will include assisting, identifying and analysing problems before crises occur and determining appropriate action and follow-up.

Skills and experience required:

• NVQ Level 3 or higher in mechanical and electrical engineering
• Demonstrable experience in a multi-discipline engineering role
• Working knowledge of BRC standards and customer codes of practice
• Knowledge and understanding of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
• Working knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems, eg. Shire
• Working knowledge and use of CMMS system (computerised maintenance management system)
• CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for Manufacturing
• HACCP, TACCP and GMP qualification
• Knowledge, understanding and compliance to hygiene and health and safety requirements – IOSHH qualification is preferable
• Competent in working with PLC systems and general fault-finding on electrical circuits. Ideally, 18th Edition qualified
• Sound fault-finding ability and a working knowledge of pneumatics and control systems
• Experience with heavy mechanical machinery
• A consistent and fair approach when implementing company policies and proceduresGood written and oral communication skills
• Ability to use initiative and work autonomously
