Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is helping a South Wales employer in Cardiff recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will support the engineering team by maintaining plant and machinery, driving continuous improvements, and helping reduce scrap while boosting line utilisation.

A strong electrical bias is preferred, but a mechanical bias will be considered, with a 60:40 split. Salary ranges from £49,500 to £57,500 per year (DOE).

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias preferred; 60:40 split.
• Apprentice trained with NVQ Level 3.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering team with maintenance and continuous improvements to plant and machinery.
• Identify areas to improve production performance, line utilisation and reduce scrap.
• Provide maintenance support for projects.
• Work on equipment including gear boxes, pumps, motors, bearings, drives, PLCs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support the engineering team by carrying out systematic tasks and continuous improvements to plant and machinery to improve existing manufacturing processes.
• Use initiative to identify areas that will improve the production performance, line utilisation and focus on reducing scrap levels.
• Provide maintenance support regarding projects.
• Work on a large variety of equipment including – gear boxes, pumps, motors, bearings, drives, inverters, relays, sensors, conveyor systems and PLC’s.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Multi skilled engineer – ideally electrical bias but will consider mechanical bias. 60:40 split
• Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3
• Worked within manufacturing.
• Strong problem solving/fault finding ability and experience.
