Job summary

Abbott Laboratories Limited in Witney seeks multi-skilled Support Engineers to join our Operations Group. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns and monitor equipment performance to maintain yields and efficiencies, while assisting the Projects Team with changes to equipment.

Working in a clean room or controlled environment, you will fault-find and improve automated equipment, supporting rotating 4-on-4-off schedules (days/nights).

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Completion of an engineering apprenticeship or higher qualification (ONC/HNC/HND or degree).
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain records under stringent quality systems.
• Experience setting up precision assemblies, fault-finding and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Fault-find, maintain and continually improve bespoke automated equipment and processes in a clean room/controlled environment.
• Support 4-on-4-off days and nights rotating pattern, or 4-on-4-off nights shift.

As a result of strong business growth, industry‑leading product development in the biosensor business and a long‑term commitment to high volume manufacturing in Witney, we have opportunities for multi‑skilled Support Engineers to join our Operations Group. Support Engineers will perform preventive maintenance activities, respond to breakdowns, monitor equipment performance and provide valuable input to help maintain process yields and efficiencies. Responsibilities

Working in a clean room or controlled environment, you will provide technical expertise to fault‑find, maintain and continually improve bespoke automated equipment and processes. You will support our 4‑on‑4‑off Days and Nights rotating pattern, or the 4‑on‑4‑off Nights shift.

About You

To be successful, you will need experience of engineering within a manufacturing environment, specifically skills in setting up precision assemblies, using machine tools, fault‑finding and problem‑solving. You must have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or hold a higher education qualification (such as an ONC, HNC, HND or degree) in a related subject. You must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with peers and other departments, maintain a high standard of record‑keeping under stringent quality systems, and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.
