Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd in Sudbury is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) for a high-speed, high-demand production site. You will perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across production and packaging lines, reading electrical drawings and diagnosing faults.

You will also contribute to reliability improvements, work with production teams, and support ongoing device and process optimisations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a maintenance electrician or similar.
• Electrical bias with hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
• Experience reading electrical drawings and fault finding on panels and drives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across production, packaging and plant equipment.
• Perform electrical fault finding on panels, motor drives and PLCs.
• Conduct root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) | Sudbury | £56,000 | 12hr Panama Shifts

A well-established manufacturer in Sudbury is recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias. The site has over 75 years of history and runs high-volume continuous production. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

Salary and hours

• £56,000 per annum
• 12-hour Panama shift pattern covering days, nights and weekends

The role

• Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across production, packaging and plant equipment, using both electrical and mechanical skills
• Electrical fault finding and diagnostics on panels, motor drives, controllers, pumps and PLC-controlled automation
• Root cause analysis and proactive fault prevention to reduce downtime
• Small electrical and mechanical installation and modification projects
• Working with production and engineering to improve equipment reliability
• Coaching production staff on equipment best practice

What you'll need

To be considered for this Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer role, you will need:

• At least 2 years' experience as a maintenance electrician or similar, with an electrical bias
• C&G Level 3 Electrical (2330, 2365 or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley or Siemens S7 PLCs, including reading code for fault finding
• Pneumatic control experience, good mechanical aptitude and strong diagnostic skills
• Experience in FMCG, food, drink or another high-speed production environment
• Able to work from electrical and mechanical drawings

Desirable

• C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing
• 18th Edition
• HNC/HND
• SCADA experience
• Steam, water treatment or wastewater plant experience
