Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a global packaging manufacturer based in Rotherham to recruit a Multiskilled Engineer.
Hours: 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
- 8:00am to 4:30pm
- 3-week rotating pattern:
- Week 1: Monday to Friday
- Week 2: 4 days worked between Monday to Friday & Saturday
- Week 3: 4 days worked between Monday to Friday & Saturday
- Pension: Matched up to 7%
- Holiday: 25 days holiday + statutory bank holidays

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Multiskilled Engineer will be responsible for maintaining 17 injection moulding machines ranging from 90 tonne to 2700 tonne, along with associated ancillary equipment.
The duties of the Multiskilled Engineer include:
- Carrying out breakdown and preventative maintenance on all machinery and fixtures
- Ensuring all preventative maintenance is completed according to schedule
- Investigating and resolving machine-related problems
- Supporting the maintenance of all machinery and facilities on site
- Liaising closely with the Shift Engineer / Maintenance Manager regarding production downtime, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs
- Identifying root causes of technical problems to provide effective solutions
- Analyzing, identifying, and repairing machine issues that hinder production timelines and rates
- Managing, leading, and supporting project work and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., OEE, uptime, throughput, waste reduction, housekeeping, and process improvement)
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Training and mentoring Engineering Apprentices on site
We are keen to speak with Multiskilled Engineers with the following skills and experience:
- Level 3 or above in a multi-skilled engineering discipline (Mechanical or electrical bias)
- Time-served apprenticeship in engineering
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience repairing and maintaining machines and tools, with the ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to use in-house IT systems and Microsoft Office packages
- Ideally, up-to-date knowledge and experience working with injection moulding machinery and tooling
- Good knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and mechanical systems (fault finding, maintenance, reading drawings/schematics, etc.)
