Job summary

Devon-based manufacturing group is seeking a Night Shift Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide hands-on support across automated production lines and facility equipment, with a strong electrical bias. Includes a salary of £47,500 per annum inclusive of shift allowance.

Working nights 22:00-06:00, you will join the engineering team to maintain uptime, diagnose faults, perform planned preventative maintenance and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/production environments.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Solid mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Competent with pneumatics, hydraulics, VSDs.
• Experience with reactive and preventative maintenance.
• Good Health & Safety mindset and safe systems.
• Structured fault-finding and RCA contributions.
• Proactive, methodical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on maintenance across manufacturing, automation and facilities equipment.
• Maintain equipment uptime, respond to breakdowns, and complete preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across machinery, drives, safety circuits, and ancillaries.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives on site.

As part of the Engineering team, the business is now seeking a Night Shift Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide hands‑on maintenance support across a range of manufacturing, automation and facility equipment.

Working closely with the Maintenance Team Leader and Production teams, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment uptime, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance and supporting ongoing continuous improvement across the site.

The role will have a strong electrical bias, with responsibility for diagnosing and resolving faults across machinery, drives, safety circuits and ancillary equipment, alongside mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance.

Skills & Experience Needed:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, processing or similar environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
• Good mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Competence with pneumatics, hydraulics and variable speed drives.
• Experience carrying out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
• Ability to carry out structured fault-finding and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and methodical approach.
