Job description

Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Overview

First Military Recruitment is partnering with a manufacturing business in Northampton to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis due to company growth.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure safe working practices at all times.
2. Produce and review RAMs.
3. Perform RCA and detailed fault finding.
4. Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
5. Use site safety systems including L.O.T.O, testing for dead, and safe reinstallation.
6. Follow permit systems, produce risk assessments, safe systems of work, and COSHH assessments.
7. Conduct instrument calibrations and control valve maintenance.
8. Refurbish plant and equipment including laboratory, factory, and effluent treatment plant.
9. Perform duty holder roles.
10. Work with hazardous systems such as steam, air, water, and chemicals including HCL, nitric acid, caustic, and ammonia.
11. Mentor colleagues to promote knowledge sharing.
12. Maintain good communication and handovers with team members.
13. Participate in project teams or multiskilled activities.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Apprentice-trained Engineer with Mechanical and/or Electrical bias.
2. Experience with instrument calibrations.
3. Familiarity with HMIs, PLCs, DCS, and Scada fault finding.
4. Electrical 17th/18th edition certification.
5. Experience with CMMS and maintenance strategies (desirable).
6. Ability to manage contractors (desirable).
7. H&S and environmental awareness; NEBOSH or IOSH managing safety certifications (desirable).

Additional Details

Location: Northampton

Salary: £46,000 + 10% shift allowance

Working Hours: 42 hours/week, 6am-6pm, 3 days on, 2 days off
