A leading manufacturing company in Newport, UK is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure continuous production by performing fault-finding and maintenance on various machines, including hydraulic and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background, experience in maintenance, and strong communication skills. Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

45 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Newport
£51,461 + benefits

4‑week shift rotating pattern:

• Week 1: Mon‑Fri, 9:30 pm – 6:30 am
• Week 2: Mon 11 am – 10 pm; Tue‑Fri 1:30 pm – 10 pm
• Week 3 & 4: Mon‑Fri, 5:30 am – 2:30 pm

What’s the mission

Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault‑finding and equipment maintenance. You will work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.

Mission‑critical skills

• A good electrical working knowledge with mechanical experience is essential
• Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position with Electrical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent)
• A thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition
• Good understanding of current environmental, health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
• Practical hands‑on approach
• Significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plants
• Experience in electrical fault‑finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
• Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
• Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
