Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The role is permanent and days-based (6am–6pm) with a fixed 4 on 4 off pattern. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, weld, fabricate and keep accurate records in the CMMS.

£46,600 per annum, paid weekly, with ongoing training within a busy manufacturing site. This is a permanent, full-time position in a well-established operation near Diss.

Qualifications

• Time-served or formally qualified engineer with mechanical bias.
• Welding and fabrication skills – strongly preferred.
• Experience of PPM and reactive maintenance in manufacturing.
• Comfortable working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour days shift pattern, 6am to 6pm.
• Familiar with a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Electrical fault-finding experience is desirable, not essential.
• Team player with good attention to detail and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance to keep plant running efficiently.
• Provide emergency breakdown cover across production plant and site services.
• Act as first-line response on machinery faults and repair to high standards.
• Carry out welding and fabrication repairs as required.
• Record machine history, PPM records and handover information on the CMMS.
• Identify and report problem areas before failures occur.
• Contribute improvement and cost-reduction ideas for the plant and engineering department.
• Work to Health & Safety, quality and hygiene standards and maintain good housekeeping.

Salary: £46,600 per annum, Weekly Pay

Shift: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts – AM (6am–6pm)

Contract: Permanent, full time

The Opportunity:

Synergi are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. This is a permanent role within a busy engineering team, working across a broad mix of production plant and site services.

This is a permanent days position – 4 on 4 off, 6am to 6pm. The shift is fixed, so there is no rotation onto nights and you will know your pattern well in advance and can plan around it.

The site runs a fast-paced operation to strict quality and hygiene standards, so uptime matters. You will be trusted to make your own calls on breakdowns and to bring ideas forward on how the plant can run better – this is not a role where you simply wait for the next job to land.

The position is mechanically biased with welding and fabrication skills highly valued. Electrical capability is not essential, but any electrical fault-finding experience will be a genuine advantage.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Delivering planned preventative maintenance to keep plant running at optimum efficiency
• Providing emergency breakdown cover across all production plant and site services
• Acting as first-line response on machinery faults, diagnosing and repairing to a high standard
• Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs as required
• Recording machine history, PPM records and handover information on the site maintenance management system
• Identifying and reporting problem areas across plant and services before they become failures
• Contributing improvement and cost-reduction ideas for the plant and the wider engineering department
• Working to Health & Safety, quality and hygiene standards at all times, and maintaining strong housekeeping across the factory and workshops

What We Are Looking For:

• A time-served or formally qualified engineer with a mechanical bias
• Welding and fabrication skills – strongly preferred
• Experience of PPM and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment
• Comfortable working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour days shift pattern, 6am to 6pm
• Comfortable using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Electrical fault-finding experience – desirable, not essential
• A team player with strong attention to detail, who communicates well across the wider factory team
