Job summary

Lamb Weston EMEA in Wisbech seeks a Forklift Truck Driver to operate forklifts and move packaging as directed by the Packaging Supervisor. The role requires readiness to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night pattern, and to assist with loading and logistics duties while maintaining GMP and safety standards.

The successful candidate will have forklift licencing (RPPT/PPPT), SAP/SCADA familiarity, Maths and English GCSEs, and Lamb Weston safety training.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift truck.
• SAP/SCADA experience.
• Full driving licence is essential.
• Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent).
• Lamb Weston training on H&S and GMP.

Responsibilities

• Use warehouse management system to scan items as necessary.
• Operate forklift to transport items, including filling and emptying racks and loading trailers.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the working area.
• Complete a thorough handover at shift end to the next opposite shift.
• Ensure work is compliant with health and safety, environmental and GMP standards.
• Operate counterbalance, reach and RPPT forklifts as required.
• Assist the Flake department and loading of lorries for finished product.
• Support logistics with loading/unloading deliveries as needed.
• Adhere to Behavioural Based Safety and look after personal safety and others.
• Carry out sanitation duties and shutdowns when required.
• Remain on the workstation until relieved at shift handover.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and training to colleagues.
• Report issues promptly to supervisor/manager.

Job description

Job Title: Forklift Truck Driver (12hr shifts rotating days and nights)

£31400per annum

Department: Packaging

Reports to: Packaging Supervisor

Overall Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to operate a forklift truck to transport items as instructed by the Packaging Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

• Use warehouse management system to scan items as necessary


• Operate forklift truck to transport items, including filling and emptying racks, transporting packaging to the lines, loading the flake trailer


• Maintain the cleanliness of the working area.


• Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to counterpart on following shift


• Ensure work is compliant with relevant health and safety, environmental and GMP practice


• Able to operate a counterbalance FLT, Reach FLT and RPPT truck


• Assist the Flake department with Packaging as required


• Help in loading the lorry for the finished Flake product


• Assist the logistics department when required (loading/unloading deliveries/batter)


• BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) – responsible for your own safety and for those around you


• Carry out sanitation duties as required, including shutdown


• Remain at workstation until relieved at shift handover


• Carry out "on the job" guidance, training, support for colleagues as required


• Report and elevate issues on performance or damage/knock outs with a supervisor or manager in a timely manner


• Any other reasonable task as requested by your supervisor/manager

Full driving licence
