Job summary

Cytiva is seeking an Engineering Technician based in Cardiff, UK, to support the Manufacturing/Process Engineering Team. The job involves routine maintenance on production equipment and responding to breakdowns.

Applicants should have an apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in production maintenance, an electrical background, and a strong emphasis on safety and quality. Previous experience with PLCs is a plus.

Job description

In this role, you will report to the Engineering Production Leader and be a part of the Manufacturing/Process Engineering Team based in Cardiff, UK. The position is on‑site and supports Cytiva’s mission to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

Please note: For advertising purposes the job title is Engineering Technician; if successful, your official and internal job title would be Multi-skilled Engineering Technician.

What You Will Do:

• Carry out routine / preventative maintenance activities on all production equipment.
• Be production focused, react to unplanned equipment breakdowns, process changeovers, health and safety actions, and machine setup.
• Be involved in installation qualifications, risk assessments, PUWER’s, and LOTO’s.
• Work with process engineering to monitor equipment performance, and strive for continuous improvement.

Who You Are:

• Apprenticeship (or equivalent formal qualifications, NVQ 3 / HNC / BTEC) in production maintenance manufacture with an Electrical background.
• Works well under time‑bound pressure as part of a team and independently.
• Highly motivated, with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, and Delivery.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with PLCs – able to interrogate and modify PLC software (Siemens / Mitsubishi).
