Job summary

JLL is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) based in Derby, on-site at Rolls-Royce. You will design, install, and maintain electrical systems across commercial and industrial environments, with responsibilities spanning lighting, power distribution, fire and access control, and HVAC-related tasks.

The role requires strong electrical expertise, HVAC experience, and a proactive, collaborative attitude. Be prepared for out-of-hours work and on-call duties with JLL transport provided.

Qualifications

• C&G Level 2 and 3 Diploma Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• C&G 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (Test & Inspection cert preferred).
• 18th edition knowledge and compliance with Health & Safety obligations.
• Experience in electrical, HVAC and building fabric maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of low voltage electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, security systems, emergency lighting, and access control.
• Testing and inspection of low voltage systems to ensure compliance with standards and codes, with accurate documentation.
• Fault diagnosis and repair to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and maintain maintenance schedules.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients; provide guidance to junior staff and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.

Education

C&G Level 2 and 3 Diploma Electrical Installation (Or Equivalent)

Strong Electrical & HVAC experience

Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems

Knowledge of building fabric and experience in carrying out basic fabric reactive repairs

Sound understanding and experience of meeting Health & Safety obligations about maintenance activities

Must be prepared to work out of hours when required

On call one in five weeks (allowance paid), JLL transport provided

Have good communication and organisation skills

Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude

Must have a full UK driving license

Ability to work on own or as part of a team

What your day-to-day will look like

• Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of low voltage electrical systems, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, security systems, emergency lighting, and access control.
• Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspection of low voltage electrical systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and relevant codes. Complete necessary documentation and reports accurately.
• Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in low voltage electrical systems, using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques. Carry out repairs and replacements as necessary to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
• Preventive Maintenance: Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime, increase system reliability, and extend the lifespan of low voltage electrical systems. Create and maintain maintenance schedules.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Comply with electrical regulations, codes, and standards to ensure safety and minimize risks. Report any hazards or incidents promptly.
