Job summary

Premier Foods Barnsley is hiring a Multi-skilled Engineer for the 4 on 4 off shift, 2 days and 2 nights pattern. You will fault-find, repair and improve a range of cake manufacturing equipment, and provide proactive support to keep lines running efficiently.

The role requires an ONC/HNC in engineering, plus manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving ability, and CMMS usage to report activities. Join a team committed to continuous improvement and production excellence.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Motivated with a drive to develop skills within the team.
• Proven problem-solving experience in engineering.
• Experience using CMMS to report activities.

Responsibilities

• Fault find, repair, maintain and improve cake manufacturing equipment across site.
• Carry out assigned or self-directed engineering tasks.
• Provide proactive engineering support based on skill and initiative.
• Support engineering/ manufacturing to maximise equipment utilisation and KPI achievement.
• Implement maintenance to meet production plan with minimal downtime.
• Transform maintenance strategy toward Right First Time and proactive approaches.
• Coach and develop engineers in automation and software improvements.
