Job summary

Premier Foods in Barnsley, S71 region, is recruiting a Multi-skilled Engineer on a permanent, full-time basis. The role operates a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights) and offers a salary circa £65,000 per annum including shift premium.

You will apply electrical and mechanical skills to fault find, repair and improve cake manufacturing equipment, support maintenance planning, and drive continuous improvement across lines in line with safety, quality and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in Engineering discipline or similar (Electrical/Electronic).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Motivated with the determination to develop your skills within the Engineering team.
• Previous problem-solving experience.
• Experience using CMMS for reporting engineering activities.

Responsibilities

• Fault find, repair, maintain and improve site cake manufacturing equipment across site.
• Carry out assigned or self-directed engineering tasks.
• Provide an innovative proactive engineering support service to the site based on skill, experience, and initiative.
• Support the engineering and manufacturing functions ensuring maximum utilisation of engineering equipment to achieve KPIs and optimal line efficiency within safety, quality & environmental policies.
• Implement maintenance activities to minimise downtime and align with the production plan.
• Help transform maintenance strategy from breakdown to Right First Time proactive philosophy.
• Coach and develop engineers in up-skilling on automation equipment across lines.
• Drive improvement of machinery performance through software developments.
