• Skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering are mandatory.
• Achieved 18th edition electrical certification.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Kara site as part of Finsbury Food Group. Established in 1985, Kara offers a wide range of quality sweet and savoury bakery products, including gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs, and teacakes. The Kara Bakery can bake over 1 million baps and burger buns daily.

The Multi Skilled Engineer is a fast-paced, onsite role responsible for working as part of our cross-functional maintenance team. You should have excellent electrical and mechanical engineering skills, along with strong organizational skills to manage our site CMMS system. You will work within our Engineering department with a detailed approach to maintenance and a proven fault-finding track record.

Successful candidates will have good communication skills, with the ability to mentor and coach other engineers and production operators. You will actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies, reduce waste, and minimize maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of site breakdowns, ensuring quick diagnosis and corrective actions.
• Use the CMMS system to provide detailed maintenance reports.
• Follow Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards at all times.
• Complete planned maintenance on schedule and seek improvements to equipment reliability and site efficiency.
• Participate in learning, development, and project initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Time-served apprentice or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
• Skills in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Experience in fault finding.
• Achieved 18th edition electrical certification.
• PLC programming skills.
• Ability to mentor and coach others.
• Food manufacturing experience is advantageous.
