Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is recruiting an Area Relief Officer to cover a group of court and tribunal sites around Truro. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across multiple locations within a defined radius, with day shifts and no nights.

You will manage access control, CCTV, searches and incident reporting to ensure safety and excellent service. You must hold a valid UK SIA licence, be able to obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance, and have a full UK driving licence with access to your own

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK required.
• Able to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
• Valid SIA licence and security experience.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional, reliable and detail‑oriented approach.
• Flexible to work across multiple sites within a defined area.
• Good understanding of security procedures and health & safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming and customer‑focused service to all court users.
• Control access to buildings and follow security procedures at all times.
• Operate CCTV, x-ray machines and handheld metal detectors.
• Conduct searches and patrol public/restricted areas.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and security concerns promptly.
• Record and report incidents and activities accurately.
• Support safe movement of people within the building.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and compliance.
