Job summary

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) is seeking a Site Maintenance Officer to join the Central Estates Team. You will work across multiple ELAN sites within North Somerset, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring safe, compliant and well-presented school buildings and grounds.

The role offers 37 hours per week, permanent contract, and a grade-based salary from £26,427 to £29,071. Experience in caretaking, DIY and health & safety are essential, with DBS checks and sponsorship

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, property maintenance or facilities management.
• Practical skills in building repairs, maintenance and general DIY work.
• Able to work independently and within a wider team.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements and compliant premises.
• Organised, reliable and able to use initiative to resolve problems.
• Willing to travel between Trust schools within North Somerset and provide own transport.

Responsibilities

• Undertake range of planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
• Contribute to health and safety and compliance requirements.
• Support small improvement projects and upkeep of premises.
• Ensure school buildings and grounds are safe, operational and well-presented.
