Job summary

Wave Multi Academy Trust is seeking a part-time maintenance and caretaking professional to support the Glendinning and Torlands Academies within its Estates Team. The role covers planned and reactive upkeep, routine checks, hands-on trades, and contractor oversight to ensure safe, compliant sites for pupils and staff.

Experience across carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and related trades is essential, as is a strong focus on Health & Safety and COSHH.

Qualifications

• Practical experience across carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, drainage, lock fixing, and painting & decorating.
• Diverse experience of building maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Organise and carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the sites.
• Keep buildings safe, compliant and in good working order.
• Carry out routine checks and essential repairs.
• Carry out hands-on building work across a range of trades.
• Supervise contractors.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Apply Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Manage risks across the sites.
• Maintain site security.
• Maintain grounds and external areas.

Job description

Part-time maintenance and caretaking post across the Glendinning and Torlands Academies, run by Wave Multi Academy Trust and sitting within its Estates Team. The role covers planned and reactive upkeep of the buildings and grounds, from routine checks to hands-on repairs and contractor oversight. It suits someone with a passion for working with young people with additional needs and practical experience of trades such as plumbing and electrics. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the post requires an enhanced DBS check.
