Job summary

Astute is seeking an Operations Compliance Manager to develop and embed fleet-wide compliance systems and governance across a UK portfolio of assets. You will drive ISO certification and create a culture of continuous improvement, reporting into the senior leadership team.

The role requires strong leadership in HSEQ, experience across heavy engineering environments and a track record delivering governance across multiple sites. Hybrid working is offered with travel to sites.

Qualifications

Significant experience leading compliance, HSEQ or governance in heavy engineering or process industry.
Background in power generation, district heating, industrial utilities or other highly regulated environments.
Proven track record developing compliance frameworks across multiple operational sites.
Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ideally ISO 55001 management systems.
Experience leading audits, driving improvement and influencing operations.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement and improve governance, compliance and assurance framework across sites.
Implement and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 55001 management systems.
Ensure regulatory/environmental permit compliance and audit readiness.
Conduct compliance audits, identify risks and drive corrective actions.
Develop policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work for operations.
Lead environmental compliance activities including regulator engagement and reporting.
Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Partner with Operations, Engineering and Asset Management to promote compliance culture.
Lead cross-site governance for maintenance, outages and capital projects.
