Job summary

Head Office is seeking an Area Assistant Manager to oversee multiple pubs, restaurants and hotel sites across Hampshire, Dorset and Berkshire. You will support the Area/Regional Manager in day-to-day operations and drive guest satisfaction, food quality and accommodation standards.

You will lead and develop General Managers and teams, monitor financial metrics, and ensure compliance with licensing, safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple hospitality venues (pubs/restaurants/hotels).
• Strong background in pubs, restaurants, hotels or combinations.
• Commercial understanding of P&L, budgets, labour and cost control.
• Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, licensing and health & safety.
• Ability to work across different sites and adapt to changing priorities.
• Confident communicator with strong customer-service skills.
• Able to analyse performance figures and turn them into action plans.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Area/Regional Manager in day-to-day operation of multiple pubs, restaurants and hotel sites.
• Ensure excellent guest service, food quality and accommodation standards across locations.
• Lead, coach and develop General Managers, Assistant Managers and wider teams.
• Monitor sales, labour costs, GP, wastage and other financial targets.
• Drive food and beverage sales, room occupancy and site profitability.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, food safety, health & safety and company policies.
• Carry out regular site visits, audits and operational reviews.
• Support recruitment, training, succession planning and performance management.
• Analyse business performance and create action plans to improve results.
• Work with kitchen, front-of-house, housekeeping and hotel teams.
