Job summary

Mitie is seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Food Hygiene to lead hygiene operations across two major food manufacturing facilities in Harlesden and Leicester. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering safe, compliant and efficient site operations.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage site management teams and frontline colleagues, lead audit readiness for BRC and customer standards, and report performance to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in FMCG/food manufacturing with multi-site responsibility.
• Strong people management, engagement, coaching and development.
• Experience leading sites through BRC audits and regulatory requirements.
• Commercial awareness with budget and labour cost oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead hygiene operations across two large sites in Harlesden and Leicester.
• Ensure services meet contractual KPIs and SLAs with audit readiness.
• Develop site management teams and frontline colleagues.
• Foster a high-performing culture focused on engagement, accountability and improvement.
• Maintain top standards of safety, quality, compliance and food hygiene.
• Lead audit readiness activities for BRC and customer standards.
• Manage labour and budget performance to maximise profitability and efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement.
• Produce and present performance reports to internal and client stakeholders.
