Job summary

Merco Services Ltd. is seeking an Area Manager to oversee several school cleaning sites during the morning period. You will support cleaning teams, communicate with staff and management, and ensure sites meet company and client standards.

Responsibilities include delivering stock and equipment, conducting site audits, assisting inductions, organising cover, and handling shift changes. Occasional weekend work may be required; driving between sites is often necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning, facilities management, or a supervisory role.
• Strong people skills, with the ability to support and manage teams across multiple sites.
• Patient, understanding and able to work with a diverse workforce.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
• Flexible approach to work, including responding to shift changes and operational needs.
• Ability to organise staff cover for holidays and absences; confident carrying out site audits and basic staff inductions.
• Basic understanding of health and safety and cleaning standards.
• Full UK driving licence preferred, as the role involves travelling between sites.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends if required.
