Fairstead Community Primary and Nursery School is seeking a Whole School Cover Teacher to teach across the primary phase with no single class permanently attached. You will plan, deliver high-quality lessons, assess progress and contribute to pupil attainment while upholding high expectations and inclusive practice.

Your week will vary, providing PPA cover, supporting colleagues and responding to staff absence across different year groups and needs, offering professional development

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher capable of teaching across the primary phase.
• Experience with PPA cover and staff absence scenarios.
• Ability to plan, assess and manage classes across multiple year groups.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the primary phase.
• Following and developing existing curriculum planning, while adapting teaching to meet the needs of the pupils you are teaching.
• Assessing pupils' learning and using assessment to inform subsequent teaching.
• Contributing to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress.
• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, relationships and achievement.
• Ensuring that pupils with SEND and other additional needs receive appropriate adaptations and support.
• Establishing positive relationships quickly with different groups of children.
• Working closely with class teachers to ensure continuity in learning.
• Providing PPA, CPD and planned and unplanned absence cover across the school.
• Contributing positively to the wider professional life of the school.
• Taking responsibility for the impact and quality of your own teaching.
