Job summary

RE Personnel is assisting a well-established builders' merchant in Cheltenham in finding a Multi-Drop Delivery Van Driver. The role offers progression to HGV training, with employer-covered costs for lessons and tests after a qualifying period.

The candidate will manage daily deliveries, stock handling and customer service within a busy yard environment. The position is full-time with regular daytime hours and occasional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• Full Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.
• Be able to drive a 3.5-ton van on their licence.
• Experience in warehouse, yard, builders' merchant or construction environment advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload customer and supplier vehicles safely and efficiently.

Our client, a well-established and highly respected builders' merchant based in Cheltenham, has an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Drop Delivery Van Driver to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis due to continued business growth.

After a satisfactory qualifying period, there is the possibility for the successful candidate to progress and to undertake the HGV Licence. The main lessons and test would be covered by the employer to the tune of approximately £3k while you would be responsible for the Hazard Perception and Theory which would cost approximately £400 (Subject to certain conditions to be agreed in advance)

The successful Multi-Drop Delivery Van Driver should have:

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A FULL Driving Licence (with no more than 3 points)
• Be able to drive a 3.5-ton van on their licence.
• Previous experience within a warehouse, yard, builders' merchant or construction environment would be advantageous
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures

In this role, the Multi-Drop Delivery Van Driver will be responsible for:

• Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles safely and efficiently
• Picking and preparing customer orders for collection and delivery
• Assisting customers within the yard and providing excellent service
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Handling stock and building materials safely
• Delivery of lighter goods that don't have to be delivered by lorry.
• 15/20 drops per day in the general Cheltenham area, although some deliveries may be outside of the immediate area.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4:30pm/ 08.00 to 17.00 (One hour for lunch)
• One Saturday in three: 7:30am to 12:30am
