Job summary

Cencora is hiring a Multi Drop Delivery Driver for our Alliance Healthcare operations in the UK. The role is based in Letchworth with a 43.65-hour week across Mon-Fri, under a 12-month fixed-term contract. The salary is £35,227.32.

You will deliver pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals quickly and accurately, maintaining vehicle safety and professional presentation. Health and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven.
• Points on license may affect shortlist.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer care.
• Numeracy and literacy at an intermediate level.
• Desirable: multi-drop delivery driving experience.
• Route planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and competent driving, obey traffic laws and be mindful of other road users.
• Daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness (lights, brakes, coolant, etc.).
• Report faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• Keep vehicle clean and in good condition, both interior and exterior.
• Ensure sufficient fuel for the day’s work.
• Maintain vehicle security at all times.
• Check orders on drop sheets and load accordingly.
• Collect goods returned for credit and manage delivery bins return to branch.
• Handle damages/breakages per HazChem procedures.
• Maintain smart appearance and good customer relations.
• Assist with warehouse duties as required.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Job Summary

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
• To always maintain a smart appearance.
• To help maintain good customer relations.
• To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Skills Knowledge and Experience required

Essential

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
• Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Customer care
• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
• Route planning experience
