Job summary

Cencora in Wetherby is hiring a Multi Drop Van Driver for 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will deliver company products to customers safely and on time, acting as the face of the business with a high standard of customer care.

You will perform vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, follow health and safety rules and assist with warehouse tasks as required. A full driving licence and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Intermediate numeracy and literacy are expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver company products to customers in a safe and timely manner.
• Maintain a safe driving standard and follow traffic rules.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report faults or delays.
• Keep vehicle clean and in good condition; manage fuel for the day.
• Load/unload orders; ensure accurate order loading.
• Support warehouse tasks as required by management.
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold health & safety standards.

Job Title: Multi Drop Van Driver

Location: Wetherby

Hours per week: 38 hrs, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,676

Job Summary

This role is a multi-drop delivery driver role and the person will be responsible for delivering company products to the customer in a safe and timely manner. You'll be a representative of the company and be one of the first point of contacts for our customers, so a high standard of customer care must be maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.

• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.

• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.

• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.

• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.

• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.

• To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.

• To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.

• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.

• To always maintain a smart appearance.

• To help maintain good customer relations.

• To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.

• Meet all Health & Safety requirements

Skills Knowledge and Experience required:

Essential

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven

• Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent Customer care

• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable

• Route planning experience
