Job summary

Cencora is recruiting a Multi Drop Van Driver for our Alliance Healthcare operations in Dorchester. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals, while maintaining vehicle safety, cleanliness and security.

The role supports wholesale distribution across Europe through our network. The position requires a full driving license, good communication skills and a commitment to high standards of customer care.

Qualifications

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle driven.
• Points on license may affect shortlisting decision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Excellent customer care and service orientation.
• Good numeracy and literacy abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and in accordance with all road regulations, maintaining professional conduct at all times.
• Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report faults promptly.
• Load, unload, and verify orders, ensuring accurate deliveries to pharmacies and hospitals.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security, and manage fuel levels for daily routes.

This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.

Location: Dorchester

Hours per week: 48hrs M/T/W/TH/F and Sat mornings

Salary: £35,642.88

Job Summary

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

• To maintain a safe a competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
• To help maintain good customer relations.
• To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.

Skills Knowledge and Experience required

Essential

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
• Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Customer care
• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
• Route planning experience
