Cencora in Letchworth is hiring a Multi Drop Van Driver to ensure speedy, accurate pharmaceutical deliveries to pharmacies and hospitals. The role demands a full driving license and a responsible, safety-focused approach to driving, loading and unloading, and daily vehicle checks.

Working 48 hours across Monday to Saturday, you will maintain vehicle presentation, assist with warehouse tasks, and uphold health and safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and comply with traffic laws and signs.
• Daily vehicle checks (lights, brakes, coolant, etc.) and report faults.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security of the vehicle and contents.
• Ensure sufficient fuel for daily work and load orders correctly.
• Assist with warehouse tasks and ensure health and safety standards.

Job Summary

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals to pharmacies and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

• To maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
• To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
• Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
• To always maintain a smart appearance.
• To help maintain good customer relations.
• To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

Essential

• A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven
• Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist

• Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
• Route planning experience
