Job summary

BBC is offering a Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship (Level 3) in Salford. This fixed-term, full-time apprenticeship lasts 18 months and provides on-the-job learning while you work toward your apprenticeship qualification with a learning provider.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

The Media Department works out the best places to promote BBC content so audiences discover, watch and listen to it. Imagine we have a brilliant new show launching on iPlayer. Marketing decides who we want to reach, Creative develops the adverts, and Media works out where those adverts should appear. That could include BBC TV, radio and iPlayer, or paid advertising on channels such as YouTube, TikTok, outdoor posters and cinema. You'll learn how we use audience data to plan campaigns, choose the right mix of channels and measure success, while working with teams across the BBC and our external media agency.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Multi-Channel Marketer (MCM27) apprentice, this is hands on chance to learn, grow, and contribute - you will:

• Work with a BBC team to develop and deliver campaigns relevant to that team.
• Contribute to the creation of brilliant content which will helps audiences engage with the BBC
• Potentially analyse performance data to see what's working, and help improve future campaigns.
• Support the team with scheduling and campaigns, ensuring they are kept on track
• Learn tools, techniques and strategies that contribute to world class marketing!

You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you’ll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship with our learning provider, using its virtual delivery platform.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:

• Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2027
• Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
• Be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
• Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation

To apply for this scheme, you must also:

• Not already hold a qualification in the same subject area (Marketing) at the same or a higher level than this apprenticeship. If you have a Marketing degree (the equivalent of Level 6), or a Marketing qualification at or above Level 3, you are not eligible for this role.

For candidates under the age of 19 years at the start of the apprenticeship: To complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment.

You’ll need to live within a commutable distance of where this role is based.

The BBC recognises that you may need to relocate to a new location to take up a BBC Apprenticeship scheme. The cost of relocating can be a barrier for some applicants and where that is a barrier to participation, we want to help where we can. To help ensure our apprenticeship opportunities are accessible to people from a wide range of backgrounds, a limited number of relocation support awards are available each year for those who meet our financial eligibility criteria. This is a fixed-term apprenticeship - your contract lasts for the duration of the scheme. Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for any suitable open vacancies at the BBC or outside in the wider creative industry. You'll be supported with career development, employability training, and networking opportunities to help you take your next step.
