Job summary

Veolia UK on the Isle of Wight is seeking a proven leader to manage the Mechanical Treatment and Material Recovery Facility, overseeing operations, maintenance and a wide MT/MRF team to meet plant availability and production targets.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in large-scale manufacturing or recycling, and robust knowledge of HSE compliance, with a focus on financial discipline and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management experience with familiarity with Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Experience leading a large manufacturing/recycling facility.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Financial management skills and ability to manage budgets.
• Project management and continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all aspects of the MT/MRF operations and maintenance and oversee the MT/MRF team.
• Ensure output specifications meet customer and regulatory requirements and manage against site permits.
• Coordinate operations and maintenance to deliver financial and technical performance targets, including annual budget planning.
• Develop robust plans to manage breakdowns and planned maintenance, minimise downtime, and report on KPIs.
• Lead improvement projects, drive efficiencies and cost-saving solutions.
• Record and review incidents and maintain KPIs across technical, operational and financial domains.
