Job summary

Tela Technology is seeking an experienced MSP Project Engineer to join our team across Hampton in Arden or Bromsgrove. This hybrid role focuses on hands-on project scoping and delivery, working with our growing MSP division.

You’ll lead technical consultations, design and deploy IT solutions, and coordinate security and infrastructure initiatives across Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, virtualization, Azure, and networks.

Qualifications

This role requires 5+ years in a similar MSP-focused project engineer role, or a 3rd line technician role with project delivery.
Experience with networking concepts including switching, routing, VLANs, trunking, LACP and STP.
Hands-on experience with WatchGuard and/or Meraki firewalls; VPNs and wireless deployments.

Responsibilities

Technical consultations: Acting as a trusted advisor to clients; explain options and trade-offs.
Designing and deploying IT solutions: Servers, networks, cloud infra (Azure, M365), firewalls, backup systems.
Infrastructure delivery: Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, virtualization (Hyper‑V/VMware), storage and backup/DR.
Network configuration: Switches, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, wireless deployments.
Security implementations: Endpoint protection, patch management, DLP.
Security consultancy: Conduct and coordinate security assessments (Cyber Essentials, PCI‑DSS); support penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
Scoping & planning: Define scope, timelines and deliverables; create quotations.
Time tracking & reporting: Log hours and update stakeholders.
Site visits: Perform installations or resolve complex issues on-site.
