Summary

We have a new opportunity for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL or Snr MSL depending on experience) to join our Immunology team. The MSL is a field-based, non-promotional medical and scientific role. Their key objective is to build partnerships with external Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), such as clinical investigators, disease area experts, and decision makers, to communicate evidence-based critical scientific, medical, technical, and developmental issues. The associate works with HCPs utilizing scientific exchange to improve patient care solutions based on sound scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical evidence. All exchanges must be scientifically current, balanced, and non-promotional.

About the Role

Location: This territory covers South Central, South West England, and Wales. The successful candidate must reside in the territory due to significant travel requirements. Candidates must have the right to work permanently in the UK; visa or relocation support are not provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain long-term professional relationships with investigators, medical specialists, and healthcare professionals using scientific knowledge to engage in non-promotional, evidence-based scientific dialogue and presentations.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to support meetings, interpret insights, gather competitive intelligence, and coordinate with cross-functional teams including medical, sales, and marketing.
  3. Support clinical development studies through feasibility assessments, site recommendations, training, educational activities, and dissemination of results.
  4. Provide medical support to the Brand Franchise team, including HCP identification and advisory boards.
  5. Act as a scientific resource for the field force, providing expertise on non-promotional scientific and clinical topics.
  6. Identify research opportunities aligned with Novartis development goals, facilitating IITs and MTAs.
  7. Support scientific projects such as registries, epidemiology studies, and translational research according to global strategies.
  8. Ensure compliance with legislation, GCP, ethical standards, SOPs, and ABPI Code of Practice.
Requirements:
  • Experience as an MSL in any therapy area or relevant Immunology experience from NHS healthcare professionals.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field (Medical, Pharmacy, Medical Science, Scientific Affairs).
  • Strong ability to understand, communicate, and present scientific information effectively.
  • Customer-focused with excellent networking skills and ability to engage with KOLs.
  • Excellent influencing, presentation, communication skills, and cross-functional teamwork experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and adapting priorities accordingly.
  • Understanding of clinical development and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence.
