Job Description Summary

We have a new opportunity for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL or Snr MSL depending on experience) to join our Immunology team. The MSL is a field-based, non-promotional medical and scientific role. Its key objective is to build partnerships with external Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) such as clinical investigators, disease area experts, and decision makers, to communicate evidence-based scientific, medical, technical, and developmental issues. The associate works with HCPs utilizing scientific exchange to improve patient care solutions based on sound scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical evidence. All exchanges must be scientifically up-to-date, balanced, and non-promotional.

Job Description

Location: South Central, South West England, and Wales.

Please note, the successful candidate must reside in the territory as the role involves significant travel to customers across it.

Candidates must have the right to work permanently in the UK. Visa or relocation support are not available for this role.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain long-term professional relationships with investigators, medical specialists, and healthcare professionals, using superior therapy area and product knowledge for non-promotional, evidence-based scientific dialogues and presentations.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to support meetings by collecting insights, interpreting data, and supporting presentations, maintaining close cross-functional relationships with medical, sales, and marketing teams.
  3. Provide medical support for relevant clinical development studies, including feasibility assessments, site recommendations, training, educational activities, and dissemination of results.
  4. Support the Brand Franchise team by identifying HCPs and managing advisory boards.
  5. Act as a field-based reference point for scientific and clinical expertise to the field force.
  6. Identify and track research opportunities aligned with Novartis development objectives, facilitating IITs and MTA research.
  7. Implement and support scientific projects such as registries, epidemiology, preclinical, or translational research according to corporate strategies.
  8. Ensure compliance with legislation, GCP, ethical guidelines, SOPs, local WP requirements, and ABPI Code of Practice.

Requirements:

  • Open to candidates with MSL experience from different therapy areas or healthcare professionals with relevant Immunology experience from NHS.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific field.
  • Ability to understand, process, communicate, and present scientific information to a high standard.
  • Strong networking and external customer focus, with experience engaging with KOLs.
  • Excellent influencing, presentation, and communication skills, with proven cross-functional teamwork.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and adapting priorities accordingly.
  • Understanding of clinical development and GCP.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence.
