East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Radiology Consultant to provide specialist MSK radiology reporting and leadership across hospital and community sites in Blackburn. The role includes independent MSK X-ray, CT and MRI reporting, ultrasound procedures and MDT leadership.

You will contribute to clinical leadership, teaching, research and service development, with opportunities for flexible working and remote reporting from a home workstation.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and Specialist Register in Radiology (MSK)
• Extensive NHS experience in MSK radiology.
• Ability to independently report CT/MRI/X-ray examinations.
• Experience leading orthopaedic and rheumatology MDT discussions.
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Independently report MSK X-ray, CT and MRI examinations and provide specialist clinical opinions.
• Perform MSK ultrasound examinations, ultrasound-guided injections, arthrograms and fluoroscopy procedures.
• Lead orthopaedic and rheumatology MDT discussions and support treatment planning.
• Undertake general and acute CT and MRI reporting for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Participate in the on-call rota, including on-site duties at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.
• Supervise junior medical staff and collaborate with radiographers, clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Support clinical governance, risk management, audits and continuous quality improvement.
• Contribute to medical education, research and development of radiology services.
