Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust invites applications for a consultant radiologist in musculoskeletal and general radiology. You will join seven consultant radiologists and support regional sarcoma MDT, with a broad MSK service and one-stop clinic for orthopaedic and rheumatology patients.

Full GMC Registration and a CCT in radiology, or expected within six months, are required. The role includes on-call duties, seven-day working, and opportunities to pursue subspecialty interests where

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent, and UK CCT in radiology.
• Full GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register or expected within 6 months of interview.
• Broad skills in general and cross-sectional imaging, including acute imaging services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad range of musculoskeletal radiology within the team.
• Support the work of the regional sarcoma MDT.
• Offer expert opinion on standard MSK imaging.
• Perform image-guided joint injections and aspirations.
• Supervise radiology residents across a broad range of imaging.
• Teach and supervise reporting radiographers.
• Share the on-call commitment equally with consultant colleagues.
• Take part in seven-day working to support general inpatient services.
• Comply with Trust policies on job planning, appraisal and leave.
• Advise on the efficient and smooth running of the specialist service.
• Take part in Department, Directorate and Trust management.
