Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited in Doncaster is looking for an MRP Controller to join a busy Supply Chain team. You will manage material availability, stock levels and supplier performance, ensuring smooth flow of materials across the business.

Key duties include SAP-based purchasing, ERP/MRP oversight, and collaboration with procurement teams. 3+ years’ experience in purchasing or materials control is required; manufacturing exposure is preferred. This role is on-site with ongoing assignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Purchasing, Materials Control, or Supply Chain.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis capability.
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage consumable, warranty and repair materials within MRP.
• Raise and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP.
• Monitor supplier order books and liaise with Category Managers.
• Control stock levels and material availability per MRP requirements.
• Produce reports on spend, supplier performance, stock and POs.
• Support engineering change management and new project acquisitions.
• Coordinate logistics between suppliers, depots and warehouses.
• Handle supplier invoice queries and ensure timely payments.

The Best Connection are recruiting for an

MRP Controller on behalf of our client, a leading logistics business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced materials planning professional to join a busy Supply Chain team. You'll be responsible for managing material availability, stock levels, supplier performance, and purchase orders whilst ensuring the smooth flow of materials across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of consumable, warranty, and repair materials
• Raising and managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders through SAP
• Monitoring supplier order books and liaising with Category Managers
• Managing stock levels and material availability in line with MRP requirements
• Producing reports on spend, supplier performance, stock availability, and purchase orders
• Supporting engineering change management and new project acquisitions
• Working with suppliers and procurement teams to optimise spend
• Managing supplier invoice queries and ensuring timely payments
• Coordinating logistics between suppliers, depots, and warehouses
• Building strong working relationships with internal departments and external suppliers
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Purchasing, Materials Control, or Supply Chain role
• Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Experience managing materials within complex supply chains
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
