Job summary

The Best Connection Group seeks an experienced MRP Controller in Doncaster to manage material availability, stock levels, and supplier performance within a busy Supply Chain team.

You will raise and track purchase orders via SAP, monitor supplier performance, and ensure timely delivery of materials for manufacturing and engineering projects. Strong Excel skills and collaborative approach required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchasing, Materials Control or Supply Chain.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage material availability and stock levels in line with MRP requirements.
• Raise and manage purchase orders and requisitions through SAP.
• Monitor supplier performance and liaise with Category Managers.
• Produce reports on spend, stock availability and procurement.
• Support engineering change management and new projects.
• Coordinate logistics between suppliers, depots and warehouses.
• Manage supplier invoice queries and payments timelines.

Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (37.5 hours per week)

The Best Connection are recruiting for an

MRP Controller on behalf of our client, a leading logistics business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced materials planning professional to join a busy Supply Chain team. You'll be responsible for managing material availability, stock levels, supplier performance, and purchase orders whilst ensuring the smooth flow of materials across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of consumable, warranty, and repair materials
• Raising and managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders through SAP
• Monitoring supplier order books and liaising with Category Managers
• Managing stock levels and material availability in line with MRP requirements
• Producing reports on spend, supplier performance, stock availability, and purchase orders
• Supporting engineering change management and new project acquisitions
• Working with suppliers and procurement teams to optimise spend
• Managing supplier invoice queries and ensuring timely payments
• Coordinating logistics between suppliers, depots, and warehouses
• Building strong working relationships with internal departments and external suppliers
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Purchasing, Materials Control, or Supply Chain role
• Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Experience managing materials within complex supply chains
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
• Commitment to working as part of a team
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Experience with complex material planning systems
• Experience within a critical spares industry

£30,000 per annum plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme
