We are offering a rare opportunity to join our adult critical care pharmacy team for a month fixed term or secondment. We are a very supportive team with comprehensive expertise in various aspects of critical care pharmacy. We look forward to sharing our enthusiasm for improving pharmaceutical care for our patients with you. The focus of the job will be clinical pharmacy provision to the Adult Critical Care Unit (both OCCU and CICU), with opportunities to engage in project work.

Responsibilities
  • The Specialist Pharmacist Adult Critical Care provides clinical pharmacy services to patients on the Adult Critical Care Units (OCCU and CICU) in Oxford University Hospitals, working closely with other critical care pharmacists.
  • Support Highly Specialist Pharmacists, the Consultant Pharmacist Critical Care, and collaborate with other Specialist Pharmacists in the CAPR team to deliver safe, effective, and efficient pharmacy services to the Adult ICUs.
  • Review and optimise prescriptions, participate in MDT ward rounds, and provide advice and teaching to junior pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support deputising for the Senior Pharmacists Critical Care at medicines or governance-related meetings, such as the OCC Quality & Safety Meeting.
  • Assist in producing medicines evaluation, protocols, and treatment guidelines, and participate in audits and projects related to Adult Critical Care.
  • Occasionally support the CAPR Lead Directorate Pharmacist in providing services to other specialties within the directorate, such as Anaesthetics, following appropriate training.
