Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a full-time MRI Radiographer to join #TeamIOWNHS. You will deliver high quality MR imaging and support radiographic clinical standards within a dedicated team on the island.

The role requires independent practice and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure accurate, timely diagnostics and excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• State Registered with the HCPC and qualified radiographer with a BSc or D.C.R.(R).
• Postgraduate qualification in specialised imaging is desirable for this role.
• Experience directly related to MRI and radiographic imaging would be advantageous.

We are recruiting for a full time MRI Radiographer who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care!

This is a truly exciting time to join our team as we have recently launched our newly developed £10m Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) that will deliver first-class diagnostic care to our community.

The new centre will have the ability to deliver joined up diagnostic care, and with increased capacity this will ensure our patients will have faster access to treatment, earlier diagnosis, and improved outcomes.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the delivery of high quality specialised imaging and t o provide professional support to maintain clinical standards for the radiographic team.

To conduct a wide range of MR scans upon a range of patient types, both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.

Person specification

Qualifications

• State Registered with the HCPC


• BSc or D.C.R.(R) in Radiography


• Postgraduate qualification in specialised imaging (M level)

Knowledge

• High Technical standards with proven evidence of CPD, clinical expertise in mammography and specialist knowledge of breast diseases


• Evidence of continuing professional development


• Experience in student supervision


• Experience in Emergency Department imaging


• Evidence of multidisciplinary team working

Physical Skills

• Able to wear radiation protective clothing (5mm equivalence) and monitoring devices


• Be able to operate and move full range of radiographic equipment including over-couch tubes, mobile Image Intensifiers with monitors and mobile x-ray machines (motorised and non-motorised)


• Be able to operate manual handling aids, as provided by the department including patient slide boards, sheets, hoists and trolleys


• Be able to operate VDU equipment in both image acquisition and data management


• Be able to operate VDU equipment in both image acquisition and data management

Abilities

• Must be able to demonstrate good technical knowledge and continue to development it


• Ability to work under extreme emotionally charged conditions


• Able to observe all legal requirements of the work, such as COSHH, the Health and Safety at Work Act, IR (ME) R and subsequent amending legislation.
