Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Refinement Operator to oversee the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the refinery area to ensure a safe, clean and productive environment. The role requires working four on four off shifts with a 5am–5pm and 11am–11pm pattern, plus 1.5x overtime as applicable.

You will operate the MRF, monitor KPIs, maintain housekeeping, and perform light maintenance as part of autonomous maintenance practices within a team that prides itself on a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Experience in collecting data/recording/communication of operational data.
• Knowledge of MRF plant operations advantageous.
• Good understanding of process figures with a drive to hit to targets.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the MRF to ensure outputs and quality meet requirements.
• Monitor KPI's such as tonnage throughput, downtime and availability.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping for Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Deal with blockages inside the MRF as they arise.
• Provide light maintenance of equipment through autonomous maintenance.

Refinement Operator

Salary: £32,891.04 per annum

Four on Four off Shift Pattern
5am – 5pm and 11am – 11pm

Overtime paid at 1.5 times

In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day operating and monitoring of the refinement area of the plant to ensure a safe, clean, and productive environment is maintained at all times.

Our team is a close knit one, and we pride ourselves on our family feel. Joining our Refinement team will mean liaising closely with colleagues responsible for other elements of the site, so it can function as an integrated whole, and run at maximum levels of safety, availability and efficiency.

Your key responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating the MRF to ensure desired outputs and required quality is achieved
• Monitoring KPI's such as tonnage throughput, down time and availability
• Ensure the highest level of housekeeping is maintained to ensure Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Dealing with blockages inside the MRF as they arise
• Providing light maintenance of equipment through autonomous maintenance practice

Requirements

Essential criteria for this role:

• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
