Job summary

Dewis CIL is seeking a compassionate personal assistant to support a young client at home and in the local community. You will assist with morning routines, personal care, and accompany him on local trips to parks and activities.

A valid driving licence to operate the adapted vehicle is required, with confidence and empathy in a home setting. Role involves 8 hours during term time and 12 hours during school holidays, with pay at £15.50 per hour.

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 9-year-old boy from the Tonypandy area looking for personal assistant to assist me at home and in the community. By Supporting me my mum can assist my brother. I have Down syndrome and a wheelchair user. I have kidney disease and am ibd tube fed but my mum takes care of my feeding. I am double incontinent, so personal care is needed. I am also having tests on my eye site as I find it difficult identifying certain objects.

I am very loving and I like to cuddle but I can also be stubborn at times especially when it comes to Peppa pig as I enjoy everything Peppa at the moment. Peppa is not a want it’s a need now so I would like you to take me out for walks locally and spend time with me in the local park. At home I have a playroom so when we stay in, I like to be in there.

PURPOSE OF JOB

• Main reason for the position, support at home, out in the community.
• Be confident to drive my adapted vehicle.

HOURS OF WORK

• 8 hours term time 12 hours school holidays, mornings will be needed at times to help me get ready for School.

RATES OF PAY

£15.50 per hour
