Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking an experienced academic to contribute to the development and delivery of medicinal chemistry teaching within the integrated MPharm programme. You will join the curriculum design team and collaborate with colleagues across Pharmacy themes to enhance learning for UK undergraduates.

Applicants should have delivered medicinal chemistry teaching in a UK undergraduate setting and show commitment to developing their national or international profile in Pharmacy

Qualifications

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry or related subject is essential.
• Experience teaching Medicinal Chemistry in a UK undergraduate degree.
• Teaching qualification or evidence of working towards.
• Experience working and communicating with a team of staff.
• Experience developing strong working relationships with partners within and external to Higher Education.
• Ability to develop creative approaches to problem solving.
• Experience working independently on project activities.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and IT skills.
• Evidence of Pharmacy or Chemistry education research.
• Experience of significant contribution to the design, development and coordination of a pharmacy programme.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver medicinal chemistry teaching within the MPharm programme to be accessible and inclusive.
• Improve student experience and outcomes through programme delivery based on student needs and professional requirements.
• Be a role-model for MPharm students and conduct Pharmacy Education scholarship with national/international impact.
• Engage in recruitment and outreach activities, including Open Days, and support administrative roles as needed.
