Job Description:

We are looking for a new MPD Lead Repair & Maintenance Technician based in our workshop in Portlethen. You will support and service all products within NOV’s Managed Pressure Drilling business. Your existing knowledge of repair and maintenance of valves and pipework, including pressure testing, will be critical to your success in this role. You will liaise with internal stakeholders and manage your schedule efficiently to maintain strong customer relations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical support for MPD operations and related tasks in well preparation, execution, and end-of-well maintenance.
• Demonstrate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills, including wiring and familiarity with feedback control loops and PLCs. Operate multi-meters and signal generators for calibration and troubleshooting.
• Read and understand hydraulic setups and process flow diagrams.
• Assist MPD Field Service Supervisor at the wellsite.
• Understand fundamentals of drilling systems and software troubleshooting in PLCs. Participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or completed a Mechanical apprenticeship.
• Experience working in a workshop environment.
• Knowledge of repair and maintenance of valves and pipework.
• Preferred experience in Managed Pressure Drilling.
• Experience with JDE software is advantageous.
