Job description

Job Title: Senior Pharmacy Technician - Mental Health & Learning Disability

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Mental Health & Learning Disability pharmacy team as a senior pharmacy technician.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver a busy dispensing service for in-patients and out-patients at Royal Cornhill Hospital, including final accuracy checks.
  2. Deputise for the Lead Pharmacy Technician and organise the dispensary workload daily.
  3. Provide technical support to hospital wards and coordinate the dispensing and supply of clozapine.
  4. Train pharmacy staff and multidisciplinary team members.
  5. Undertake medicines management activities at ward level, including medicines reconciliation, patient medicines checks, and organising medicines supply during in-patient stays and at discharge.
  6. Lead medicines-related audits.
  7. Participate in rotational weekend working at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Registered pharmacy technician with a willingness to undertake the Accredited Checking Technician qualification.
  • Interest in working within mental health.
