GMP Recruitment are partnering with a growing business in Bicester to recruit a proactive Materials Planning & Logistics Assistant. You will support materials planning, stock control and logistic processes, ensuring material availability for production.

Key responsibilities include coordinating deliveries, processing orders, and maintaining ERP/MRP data. Experience in manufacturing or automotive environments is desirable, with SAP/Oracle knowledge preferred.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

GMP Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of an established and growing business in Bicester, seeking a proactive and highly organised Materials Planning & Logistics (MP&L) Assistant to join their operations team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in materials control, logistics, supply chain administration or manufacturing operations to take the next step in their career.

Working within a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring materials, stock and logistical processes run smoothly, supporting production requirements and wider operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day coordination of materials planning and logistics activities.
• Monitor stock levels, material availability and inventory accuracy.
• Support production teams by ensuring materials are available when required.
• Liaise with suppliers, internal departments and logistics partners to coordinate deliveries.
• Process purchase orders, delivery documentation and stock movements.
• Maintain accurate records using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Monitor incoming deliveries, identify potential shortages and **escalate** issues promptly.
• Support stocktaking, inventory reconciliation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with scheduling, goods-in processes and general supply chain administration.
• Work collaboratively with production, procurement and warehouse teams to maintain operational efficiency.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a busy operational environment.

• Previous experience in logistics, materials planning, supply chain administration, stock control or a similar role.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude.
• A reliable team player with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Experience working within manufacturing, engineering or automotive environments.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar.
• Understanding of production planning, inventory management and material scheduling.
• Previous experience supporting procurement or supplier coordination.

• Competitive salary of £28,000 – £32,000, dependent on experience.
