Derbyshire Dales District Council is recruiting a Move More Coordinator to deliver the Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy. The role is part-time (22.2 hours per week across 3 days) and permanent, subject to external funding.

Based in the Sports Development section of the Community Development department in Matlock, with most work out in the community. You will deliver sports and activities for all ages and abilities, targeting inactive groups, people with long-term conditions or disabilities,

Qualifications

• Level 2 coaching certificate is required.
• Ability to lead sessions independently.
• Experience creating and delivering engaging activity sessions.
• Strong communication and partnership skills.

Job description

Derbyshire Dales District Council are recruiting a new Move More Coordinators to join our team and deliver our new Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy which is currently in co-production. The role is part time and will deliver a variety of physical activities across the Derbyshire Dales.
The position is permanent but subject to receiving external funding. This job is 22.2hrs per week / 3 days per week.
The Move More Coordinator will deliver sports and activities to all ages and abilities. Targeting different groups from the inactive, people with long term conditions or disabilities, women and girls, youth diversionary, events and festivals, and sports specific programmes e.g. Tennis & Pickleball.

We are looking for self-motivated and dedicated individuals, passionate about sport and physical activity and their ability to engage people across all ages. The successful candidate should hold a Level 2 National Governing Body coaching certificate and be capable to lead sessions independently.
The successful candidates will have knowledge and experience of creating and delivering engaging activity sessions and working collaboratively with partners. You will need to be bold and innovative, have excellent organisational, communication and partnership working skills.
This position is based in the Sports Development section of the Community Development department in the District Council Offices, Matlock. However, the majority of the work will be out in the community.
