Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting for a Motorway Heavy Recovery Technician up to 60-tonne recovery operations to support the M25 network from Dartford. You will respond to incidents, perform vehicle recoveries and maintain recovery equipment, following CPS procedures and safety policies.

The role requires a UK driving licence with C+E, IVR 1-3, DQC, CSCS Operative Card, and appropriate lifting qualifications. Travel and shift work are involved.

Qualifications

• UK Driving Licence with category C+E (LGV Class 1).
• IVR 1, 2 and 3 qualifications.
• Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
• CSCS Operative Card.
• Appropriate manual handling qualification.
• Appropriate lifting qualification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to road traffic incidents and hazards, providing recovery support and advice on scene.
• Safely recover light and heavy vehicles using recovery vehicles, underlift, winch, crane, and other equipment.
• Help clear incidents quickly to minimise disruption and keep the network moving.
• Complete accurate reports and data entry using mobile devices.
• Carry out routine vehicle and equipment inspections and maintain compliance with legislation.
• Keep driving records up to date and ensure equipment is safe and ready for use.
• Identify and report issues affecting safe operation of the road network.
